The Columbia Ground Squirrel is one of the most famous of the rodentia who make their homes in the Rocky Mountains; it can be easily recognized by the reddish fur of its face and underside, and the distinctive spotted pattern on its back. This one was kind enough to pause briefly from dashing around in and among these rocks.
