A clepsydra was an ancient time-keeping device that worked by measuring water that dripped out of a container; it was also called a water clock. This geyser likely bears this device's name because it operates "like clockwork" -- it erupts nearly continuously. At its base there are a number of intricate sinter formations, and a pale green hot water pool.
