Hoodoos are unusual rock formations that sometimes resemble human figures. They are most commonly found in dry areas where weathering creates tall spires; Bryce Canyon is the most famous example of a formation containing large numbers of huge hoodoos. While Yellowstone is not known for hoodoos, there are some there, between Mammoth Hot Springs and the Golden Gate. They are not the most impressive hoodoos I've ever seen, but I did find myself noticing some faces staring back at me in this picture....
