It's often difficult to reconcile being a nature/landscape photographer with being a father of three. While I'd love to be able to go on long photo-taking expeditions, it's simply not practical. Accordingly, I try to use family trips as opportunities to explore my photographic bent. My family took such a trip in June/July 2004, out to the Canadian Rockies. Since we flew into Spokane, Washington, this gave us the opportunity to travel through Montana and explore more of its wonders. When I realized that the National Bison Range was in central Montana, quite near where we were going, I knew we simply had to stop for a few hours and check it out. Our brief visit was a lovely, warm, hazy June morning. We got to see many bison -- male, female and young -- both by themselves and in herds. I also captured some of the other flora and fauna from the bison range, which I hope will help you gain an appreciation for it. NOTE: If you want to preview the contents of this
