Yellowstone National Park has the distinction of being the first of its kind, established as a national park by United States President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872. The park was named for the Yellowstone River, whose name in turn comes from the rhyolite deposits that line its famous canyon. Yellowstone National Park is more than just a park -- it is a spectacle, with its powerful geysers, colorful steaming hot springs, and beautiful mountains and valleys. The park is also well-known for being a place where you can see a wide variety of wildlife frolicking at just about any time, but especially in the early morning and evening. I had always heard about Yellowstone, but never really knew much about the place. I was totally unprepared for the incredible variety of natural wonders the park contains. Even though I was only there for three days, I took over 1,000 photographs due to the sheer variety of geysers, springs, canyons, waterfalls, rivers, wildlife and other features in the park. Of these, I refined 100 images that capture the broad beauty and magic of Yellowstone National Park, for you to enjoy any time. (I originally created this SceneSet in two volumes, but subsequently combined them into this one.)
